What They Could Not Do

Take a moment and think of Who we celebrate today!

 Creation could not hold Him,

the innkeeper could not house Him,

His parents could not keep Him from His Father's business,

the demons could not stay when He had something to say about it,

the injured and diseased could not leave Him alone,

the high priests could not stand Him,

the disciples could not always understand Him,

the multitudes could not learn enough from Him,

Pilate could not find fault in Him,

the cross could not make Him suffer long,

the Father could not bear to watch His Son sacrifice Himself,

death could not bring Him down,

the tomb could not hold Him in.

And this old world will not be able to keep Him from returning someday.

"O death,where is thy sting?O grave,where is thy victory?"
