Christmas projects
I've been kinda busy lately, making things for Christmas and all. I thought I'd post a few of my projects.
The first one was a wreath, made out of the extra pine boughs from our Christmas tree.
I started by trying to make one on something round....like a bike wheel...spokes and all. Then my Dad came out to the front porch where I was working and showed me how to do it without anything but the boughs.
So I tied some of them together in a circle and then twisted the other ones into it.
Then to finish it off I tied on a big red bow.
The second thing I did was make some containers to give Christmas cookies and candy in. I saw the idea in a magazine and suggested it to my mom, because every year she gives her family cookies. She liked the idea and saved big coffee cans for me until we had enough. Then we peeled off the labels and washed them out.
I rolled out some brown packing paper and cut it to fit around the outside of the can.
Next I used a stamp and green ink pad to cover them in Christmas trees.
After that I put a strip of hot glue on the "seam" of the coffee can and touched one edge to it.
Then I hot glued another strip at the same place, but on top of the paper I just glued to the can.
Ta da! A new cookie tin! And so simple!
I'm still working on another project for the kids in my class at church, but they aren't quite finished yet, so I'll post about them in the future.
Have a blessed Christmas season! Don't get so busy that you forget Who we're celebrating!
