{A New Face for My Mirror}

Let me start out by saying I never knew how handy it was to have a mirror in the kitchen. When I'm in the middle of cooking something and I get too hot, instead of having to run back to the bathroom and let the food burn, I can do my hair right there. Anyways....

This mirror that I have in my kitchen was from a friend's yard sale. My sister has the same sort of mirror in her kitchen, only bigger. And mine was already painted by someone. Sort of...
 {I think they were in a rush!} So mine was in need of a new paint job. So I started by sanding it.
I liked the way this looked and I almost left it like this. But then I looked at the pain job again and said no, this mirror is getting a completely new look. So then comes paint. And what color? RED. I have begun to like red more and more.

Especially after I painted this mirror.

And of course then I sanded it again a little bit to get that nice rustic, vintage, shabby feel.
I told mechanic man last night that I was liking the mirror more every time I passed it.

This nice spring-like weather we've been having isn't only good for painting, though. I washed a lot of sheets today. And our comforter {it was covered in Hancock hair}. And I hung out my old quilt to let it air out. Everything gets dusty here if you let it sit long enough.
I had a bird fly in my house today because all my screenless windows were open. So I had to chase it out. Another bird just ran into one of the closed windows. Don't tell Grandma Davis.

And finally, what would a post be without Hancock?

He's learned something. How to get outside. You sit at the door and whine like you really gotta go. So he was doing this the other morning when I was trying to read my Bible. By the way, he had been out on his chain and I had just brought him in. So I told him to be quiet and stop whining and that I would let him out later. I noticed he got quiet, so I turned around to look, and this is what I saw.

Yup, he was pouting.

Happy "I love you day". Tell someone of Jesus' love.
