{renovations}

Before Mr. Mechanic Man and I got married, I had a chance to look in the trailer we were going to live in. One of the big things that I didn't like {nor did MM} was the wall paper on the walls. Huge stripes put above a strange-colored sandy pattern and crowned with big flower paper.

Yeah, not exactly ideal for a young couple.

So anyway, one night while I was talking to my intended, he started ripping the wallpaper off the wall. And so, all we had left was the strange-colored sandy pattern when I came down after the wedding. Notice in the picture below...{this was a picture from the surprise I got in March}
The walls looked like...well...trailer walls.

Skipping to present day now, my family has been here for over a week, and before they came, Anna said, "You'd better figure out something for Dad to do because if you don't he's going to be bored the whole time." So I thought, What about the walls?

Dad's a jack-of-all-trades, and I took it as the opportune time to do this so that instead of having the living room torn up for a few weekends to paint, we could have it done in a few days. And that's all it took! Dad even hung drywall, so it looks like a living room in a house.

 Mechanic Man was happy to help, even if he only got to after work.
two heads are better than one!
 Another "nice" thing happened to the window between the kitchen and living room. Nice for me, that is. Not so nice for the window. This is what it used to look like:
By the way, that pizza was AMAZING. {Yet another picture from the surprise}

Anyhow, I kinda wanted a change there. So here's what we got:
The window is now a rectangular window. It really seems to open up the rooms and give more light.

Here is the finished product!

 I saw these brackets at Hobby Lobby a while ago, and I thought they would look awesome in the corners.
Best thing about them, though?

Okay, wait, second best? Obviously the best thing is that they are so western looking!

Second best? When I got up to the checkout, I found out they were 50% off. So I got both for the price of one. Perfect timing or what?

I am so thankful to have a dad who knows how to do just about anything, but more than that, he was willing to do it. I am so truly blessed.
