{day ten|ten things i like about myself|}

I'm really not comfortable writing this post, but I guess it's supposed to make you feel good. At this moment I'm just feeling a little conceited. But, here we go.

{one} eternal security
I know where I'm going when I die, and it's only because I trusted in Jesus Christ to give me passage. I asked him to come into my heart when I was 9 days shy of turning 9, and life has been so wonderful with Him. It scares me to think of what I might be doing if I didn't know Him.

{two} my standards
Mostly my standards come from being raised in a Christian home. My parents set standards for us, but at the same time told us as we got older that standards should come from the Bible, and that we should follow what God laid on our hearts as standards. My standards could always improve, I imagine, but at the same time there are days when I look around and think, "I am SO glad I have standards!"

{three} my hair and eyes
I'm going to admit it, I do like my curly hair. Especially here lately, because something is working and it's been looking nice. As for my eyes, I am so glad I have hazel eyes! I think the complexity of hazel eyes makes them so interesting.
{four} my feet and hands
"You're feet are so cute! You're hands are so small!" I get this all the time. But I do like the size of my feet, which is anywhere from 3-5 depending on the shoe. And my hands are small too. In fact, they're so small compared to Mechanic Man's that when we hold hands and intertwine fingers mine get so stretched apart that it hurts after awhile. And I think it starts to cut off the circulation to them. But I still like the sizes of my hands and feet. On a side note, I'm thankful for all the things that my hands are capable of doing, thanks to people who have taught me over the years, mostly Ma.
{five} my handwriting
There are days when my handwriting is so sloppy that I hate to write. But most of the time I love it. Sometimes if I'm writing fast my regular writing blends with my cursive. I especially like the way that looks!
{six} my voice and little tiny accent
Even though my sisters enjoy calling me Donald Duck...well, that's a long story. I like my voice. And the funny thing is that my voice sounds like my sisters' voices when we all sing together. So, there, Donald Ducks! As for the accent, I guess there are certain ways I say things that sound southern, because I took a dialect quiz and the cities my accent was closest to were Raleigh, Durham, and Charlotte. North Carolina. I've never even lived there.  I'm hoping to pick up a Texan accent, although where we are right now I might just end up with a Spanish one...

{seven} my love of antiquity
I care about things that are old. If I could afford to have it, everything in my house would be antique or be a replica. I think every old thing has a story to tell, and if I can't figure out what the story is, I'm sure I can think one up.
{eight} the gift of writing
I am so glad God chose to bless me with this gift. I'm not saying I'm a wonderful writer, mind you, but I get enjoyment out of writing and out of reading what I write. I don't know about the rest of you. It absolutely thrills me when I think of two words that rhyme in my head and then sit down and not too long after I have a poem sitting in front of me.
{nine} my love of reading
I love to read. I'm very picky about what I read and sometimes I feel like I'm analyzing a book while I read it. But I enjoy it so much. And I learn so much by reading! So you can keep your internet, and I'll just keep my nose in a book.
{ten} my choice in men
Okay, I'm pretty desperate about things now, but we're almost done! I guess I actually didn't choose my man, but God knew what I would have chosen and gave me that and ten times better! So I am so blessed. Also, I chose a pretty awesome breed of dog, and the one we got turned into such a big booger. But he adds laughter to almost every day, and a little comfort when I need it. So I think I've got pretty good taste in men, huh?
Okay, I'm done talking about myself now. I'm pretty sure my sisters are waiting for this post so they have an idea of where to start bragging on themselves. I'll help them a little.

You're both beautiful! Now hop to it!
