{quick trip}

No, family, this is not a post about that gas station we all have a memory of...

But it does contain pictures of Colorado, which I know will make up for that fact.

Last weekend Mr. Mechanic Man and I got to take a REALLY quick trip up to Fruita, CO to attend the wedding of an old BPS friend. It was fun, especially getting to see more of my favorite state. And more mining towns and sites, such as Ouray and the Camp Bird Mine. On our way home we did something we probably shouldn't have and took a "detour".

AKA we decided to follow a dirt road into the mountains to see where it would take us. It was well worth the extra time and gas. There really is nothing like a mountain drive, twisting and climbing and going by old mine sites. I love it.

Anyhow, I'll leave you with some pictures from the trip.

the colorful town of Ouray

We never have to worry about the van; she'll take us almost anywhere we need to go!

I think this was part of the Red Mine area. These houses weren't abandoned too long ago; we found green shag carpet in one.
