{some Christmas pictures}

I didn't take too many pictures over our Christmas trip home, but I figured I'd post some of what I did take today. My brother-in-law bought me a camera for Christmas, so the only pictures I have are from Christmas day on.

This year we decided to try and do Christmas at Grandma's house, which hasn't been done in quite a few years. It was so fun, and I'm pretty sure Grandma enjoyed it a lot, because she kept saying, "It sounds just like old times."
 It looked like old times, too. Too many cars for Grandma's small driveway. The only thing that didn't feel like old times was that instead of all the parents being upstairs sitting at the big table for the meal, there were a lot of us grandkids sitting there, all grown up. Over and over we kept talking about how strange it was, because in the old days when holidays took place at Grandma's, all the grandkids ate down in the basement at that table, and made quite a few memories down there. A few of these memories were discussed at the adult table this year, and we had a grand old time reliving the past.
 After lunch, most of my family took a walk around the house, and to all the old places we used to "haunt" as kids, mainly to show Mr. Mechanic Man, as it was his first time at the house we hold so dear. We walked out to the bridge up the road from Grandma's, the one all us little kids begged the big kids to take us to every year.
 The day after Christmas, we decided to take a picture with all us kids at Mom and Dad's.
 And lastly, here is one of my presents from Erin. I saw these little chickies in an antique store when I was up home in September, but didn't buy them. Then I promptly forgot all about them. But Erin didn't, and I'm so glad.
 They make nice companions for these other chickens in my kitchen.
It was good to be home for Christmas this year, to relive memories, and to make new ones.

Happy New Year, everyone!
