{the Leibster award}
Happy Saturday, folks! There's this thing being awarded around here, the Leibster Award, and I've been nominated by my older sister to receive it! So, without further ado, let's get to the questions I've been asked to answer for the award.
1. Why did you start blogging?
I suppose I started blogging because my sister had a blog and I loved reading it. I thought it would be fun to do, and at that time I was writing stories and poems and working on projects and I thought it might be a good way to share my attempts at such things with people.
2. What drove you to your niche?
Honestly there are still days when I wonder if I've found my niche. But I figure that my niche is basically sharing my life here; the projects I do, the things I'm learning, and of course pictures of my cute little boy!
3. What is your ideal day?
Getting up early {I'm still working on that...} and getting quiet time with God and a shower before doing anything else. Then I usually spend the morning straightening up and decluttering a little bit, cleaning what needs cleaned and maybe reading some books if Reuben asks me to. I'm really coming to appreciate my morning routine of putting things in their place. Then in the afternoon while Reuben naps, I may craft or sew or something and if it's a cloudy day I'll work on something in the living room and watch a movie {or most likely The Waltons}. Every evening should start with a homecooked meal which is one of my favorite jobs as a homemaker. And every ideal day would end with quality family time together, watching a movie or playing a game or porch swing sitting or maybe just goofing off on the floor with Reuben before bedtime.
4. If you could do any job, what would it be?
I'm doing it. Ever since I was little {after my aspirations of being a chef} I wanted to be a wife and mommy, and then as a teenager I felt burdened for missions. And I'm doing all three of those things today.
5. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
Europe. I can't say I could pinpoint where exactly but I'd love to go there. Or Canada since that's a little more feasible.
6. What keeps you motivated?
Thoughts of the end result, good music, and Pinterest.
7. What do you do for fun?
Read, watch The Waltons, go camping, play games with Trevor, and do puzzles.
8. What is your biggest life goal?
To learn to fully trust the Lord like Abraham learned.
9. What is your favorite book?
I hate this question. The Bible, of course, but after that I'm not sure...Dear America books, L. M. Montgomery books, and the Chronicles of Narnia series. There are probably more but that's what I can think of right now.
10. Where is your happy place?
Home. I think I've always been a home-body.
11. What is your motto?
I suppose at this point in my life it would have to be "just trust" since that's what gets written over and over again in my devotional journal.
That about covers it! Thank you so much for the nomination, Anna! Now, I'd like to nominate:
