Riding at the Coal Piles...and what happened there
This past Saturday my family and I went four-wheeling at some coal piles up north. It was fun. We didn't actually ride on the coal piles, but we did some awesome trail riding.
We found some mud puddles (and I mean deep puddles!) and our Bombardier came back like this:
But the trail riding was where the adventure happened...if you can call it that.
I was driving the Rancher and Erin was riding on the back. We were following Dad because somehow he doesn't get lost, and he went up this really steep hill.
Okay, I don't like really steep hills. I stopped and waited, seeing if Dad actually wanted me to go up this hill. He waved for me to come up, so I put the four-wheeler in first and started up.
Things were going okay. We were going kind of slow, but we were making it up.
Until we got three-quarters of the way up.
Then for some reason we really lost momentum. I let off the gas and we started to drift backwards, so I tried to stop, but it was too late. The front of the Honda was already off the ground and coming back on us. Erin and I rolled off to the side and the Honda flipped from the back to the nose and finally landed on all fours.
Thank the Lord neither Erin or I was hurt bad, even though I landed on my knee and she landed on her back. Somehow we both knew to roll off to the side at the same time because we ended up on the ground like we were riding on the four-wheeler. Now that I think of it, it's kinda funny the way we landed.
The four-wheeler was okay, no engine problems, but the front was pretty crushed.
Dad used the Bomb to pull the rack the right way again (for the most part, that is).
So this is what the Honda looks like now.
Sorry, Honda!
