{Camping Trip}

Last weekend Mechanic man and I went on a weekend camping trip. It was fun to just get away for a little, and of course, it's always good to go to the mountains.

I took this picture for Mom. She always "liked" those trails that were on the side of a canyon...not.
 Hancock rode with us the first day. This was the best picture I could get of him on the fourwheeler. He rode in my lap.

 This is where we camped. If you look straight to the right of the building there on the left, you'll see our van. We camped in it.

 We think this is Bluff Springs. From where we camped, it was a short hike up to the springs.

 On our second night, it was pretty cold. Hancock didn't want to come close to the fire, though, so I got his towel for him and wrapped him up in it. He looks pretty cozy to me.
 And the next morning we woke up to this:
 Snow! We finally go to see snow this winter! We were hoping for this, even though we were very cold the night it snowed. There's the fourwheeler.
 We made this camp hash that my parents always made when we went camping when I was little. Potatoes, onions, sausage, and eggs, all fried together in a cast iron skillet. Now THAT is a good breakfast for a cold morning!
 Then we went and did some more riding.

 We saw a herd of elk near the top of one of the mountains. This is the only picture I got, and all you can see is one of the cow's tan backsides in the middle left of the picture.
 It even snowed again when we were leaving! We stopped and ate at a diner in Cloudcroft, NM, a neat little town in Lincoln National Forest, where we camped. Home of Smokey the Bear, I might add.
We're already looking forward to going back up on another weekend. We didn't even ride half of the trails!
