{Memory's Garden}

An army of bricks
Marching down,
Slanting forward
On the ground,
Around our little
Garden plot.
In front of home,
Out garden spot.
We planted glories
For the morning
And glories for
The moon's adorning,
Planted zinnias
And four-o-clocks,
Pulled out weeds and
Chucked out rocks.
Found pieces of trash,
Threw them as well,
Said how they weren't
Biodegradable.
There were always hostas
We trimmed each year,
And the apple tree, Johnny,
Was so dear.
There were bachelor buttons
And daffodils,
And the birdys watched
And sang and trilled.
This is the garden
So dear to me;
The garden of
My memory.
